World-leading Oxford: turning excellence into opportunity
The University of Oxford has been named the world’s number one university for a record-breaking 11th consecutive year in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Oxford has held the top position since 2017, the longest run at number one in the rankings’ history, with this year’s rankings assessing a record 2,297 universities across 118 countries.
It is an extraordinary achievement and testament to the depth and breadth of excellence across the University - from world-leading research and teaching to its thriving innovation ecosystem and global networks.
As Professor Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, said in announcing the result, the University’s focus remains firmly on “putting our research and teaching to work for the benefit of society and the planet.”
For Equinox, that ambition matters.
Oxford and Oxfordshire have extraordinary strengths: research, talent, ideas, entrepreneurs, investors and businesses capable of tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges. The opportunity is to connect those strengths more effectively, and ensure that the growth and innovation they generate create opportunity for more people and communities across the region.
As a University of Oxford initiative working with partners across Oxfordshire, Equinox is helping to build those connections: making it easier to navigate the innovation ecosystem, supporting businesses to start, scale and locate here, attracting investment and opening up more pathways into the opportunities created by innovation-led growth.
Our ambition is to make Oxfordshire the world’s most welcoming place to live, start, scale and locate an innovation business, while ensuring innovation creates opportunity for everyone.
World-leading excellence gives Oxford an extraordinary platform. Our opportunity now is to make more of it, together.
