Today, the Oxford Bus Group employs around 1,600 people across the region and delivers millions of passenger journeys every year. 

The group includes brands such as Oxford Bus Company - founded in 1881 as the City of Oxford and District Tramway Company, Thames Travel, The Airline and City Sightseeing Oxford.

The Group operate a mixed fleet that includes both zero-emission and low-emission vehicles, reflecting their ongoing commitment to sustainable transport. 

Oxford Bus Group runs a range of community-focused initiatives throughout the year, including Brand the Bus, Christmas Light Bus and Chatty Bus, aiming to strengthen connections within the communities they serve. 

Alongside the significant investment in zero-emission and low-emission vehicles, the Oxford Bus Company are proud of their national recognition for customer experience, accessibility, and community engagement. As well as delivering major improvements to the Oxfordshire bus network through partnership working with councils, universities, and businesses  

Their favourite aspect of the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem is its collaborative culture, where universities, industry, transport providers, and public-sector partners work side by side.
