Charter Spotlight

RAW

RAW is Europe’s largest designer and manufacturer of commercial furniture and circular economy services that come with social value built in as standard.

‍It “combines craftsmanship with modern production techniques to deliver durable, design-led furniture while also offering circular economy services—such as refurbishment, reuse and remanufacturing—to reduce waste and extend the life of materials.”

Rick Mower has signed RAW up to the Equinox Charter, driven by his belief that “Oxford is, and should be, a place that leads.”

The social enterprise aims to prove that “business should be a force for good.” With a team of 35 staff, 75% of RAW’s adult workforce have overcome significant life challenges.

‍Alongside its commercial work, it runs RAW Potential, a youth charity that supports young people facing barriers such as mental health or educational difficulties, helping them build skills and confidence for a better future.

‍RAW’s key achievements include becoming one of the most socially impactful organisations in its industry, changing lives as well as producing market-leading products, and pioneering the reuse of client furniture at scale across the UK.

When asked about the best aspect of the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem, the answer was simple: its people.
